Lotus EatersLotus Eaters are people who feed Odysseus' men with lotus plants to make them forget about Ithaca. The Lotus Eaters are basically druggies. The men who would eat the Lotus plants would not want to leave. They wanted to stay and keep eating the lotus plant.
ScyllaScylla is a female monster with six serpent heads. Each head has three rows of fangs. She lived on one side of a narrow water channel. On the other side was the Charybdis.
SirensThe sirens were sea nymphs whose beautiful and mysterious music lores sailors to steer their ships toward the rocks. The sirens were beautiful but dangerous creatures.

AlcinousAlcinous is the king of Pheaecia. Odysseus tells the story of his whole journey to Alcinous. He helps Odysseus get back home to Ithaca. He provides home with ships, men, and supplies to get home.
CiconesCicones were poeple living in the southwestern coast of Thrace, who battled Odysseus and his men on their journey home. The Cicone were the first people Odysseus came across after leaving Troy. Odysseus and his men would steal from them and take women captive. Eventually the Cicones fought back and forced Odysseus and his crew to leave, after they had lost six men from each ship.
ErebusErebus is a person and a place. It is the dark area of the underworld where the dead reside. Erebus is also the god of darkness. He has been compared to Hades many times. Erebus guards the path in which the dead have to travel in order to get to Hades. This is why the underworld is considered to be filled with darkness.
PhaeaciaTeiresiasTeiresias is a famous blind prophet from the city of Thebes. Odysseus meets him in the land of the dead. He died by one of Apollo's arrows. His soul went to the first level of Hades, where he was visited by Odysseus. He gave him advice on how to get back to Ithaca.
Phaeacia is an island which is ruled by King Alcinous. The Phaeacians are shipbuilders and traders. When Odysseus and his men washed upon the shore of Phaeacia he was clothed and fed. He stays there for three days and then reveals his true identity. King Alcinous sends him off on one of Phaeacia's magically swift boats.

CalypsoCalypso is a beautiful goddess nymph. She is the one who keeps Odysseus on her island for seven years. Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and decided to make him her immortal husband.
CirceCirce is a witch goddess who turns Odysseus' men into swine. Circe had invited Odysseus and his men to a grand feast but only the men went. At the feast,one of the dishes had a magic potion. When the men ate it, Circe made a quick move with her wand and turned them into pigs. Only one of the companions escaped.
EurylochusEurylochus is one of Odysseus' loyal men. He was the leader of the group of men who were turned into pigs. He managed to escape and tell Odysseus what had happened. He later died in a shipwreck.
PolyphemusPolyphemus is the cyclops that was blinded by Odysseus. He is the son of Poseidon, god of the sea. In the Odyssey, Odysseus arrived at the island of cyclops. Odysseus took a wooden stake and stabbed him in his eye.
ThrinakiaThrinakia is the island where the sun god, Helios, keeps his cattle.
